This port pushes the limits of the devices we support. In-game music is not currently supported, but there is an experimental patch in gerrit which enables it (using only uncompressed WAV files). If not, check that the volume is high enough. To fix this, do Options > Reset to Defaults. Some sets of data files will have a config.cfg which has a nonzero brightness setting. The latest RockboxUtility (1.4.1 and later) will automatically install the shareware distribution if you enable "Game Files". There should be a directory called id1 with at least one pak file. To play Quake you need the game data files in /.rockbox/quake (either registered or shareware will do). This identical with any q2 mods-engines installation process.Yes, Rockbox finally has a port of id Software's famous 3-D shooter, Quake! It is based on Andy Hefner's fork of SDLQuake and runs on the SDL plugin runtime.

We install original q2 (steam or gog or from CD-ROM (full install + 3.20 patch) )Īfter that, we unpak q2xp128beta in to your q2 folder. I've must have reinstalled 3 or 4 times now to wipe everything clean and start again still have no idea what is blocking the weapon models and texture. Everything is in their proper models/weapons folder and everything.

I have no idea what is blocking the weapon models from working. So, after that I tried to install the 'Remodel Quake Weapons' no luck either, same thing, pistol and grenade launcher only. Only models that aren't dated are the pistol and the grenade launcher. I reinstalled Quake 2, unzip only Q2xpBeta into Quake 2 folder, run it. I've completely deleted Quake 2 folder in Steam. I am at wits end with trying to get weapon models to work. Originally posted by barnes:baseq2/q2xpMusic.pkx
