It was everything and more than we had hoped for. This year we booked early and then found a place to stay nearby. Where do I even begin on what a magical experience this is, We saw this on social media a couple of years ago and it was all booked up. All of them are very knowledgeable, so if you have any questions about the golden retrievers, they will patiently answer them. You can tell how much Nicolas looks after them. All the dogs were looked super healthy and groomed. You can rest and cuddle with the dogs, give them plenty of kisses and play with them! Nicolas's daughter, Lauren is also very kind and friendly. It is super chilled from the time you enter Nicolas's property. This experience was one the best dog experiences of my life. He even has a huge cooler with cold water and plenty of drinks and soda so you are well hydrated throughout the day. Once you arrive at GRE, Nicolas will keep all your food in the refrigerator. If you are having a barbeque, I would suggest you shop and carry your dinner stuff with you.
He is a chef, so you won't be disappointed. Connah, who works with Nicolas and looks after the dogs was super friendly and cooked us a lovely meal. You can enjoy your dinner in the company of 26 dogs! Since we are vegetarians, Nicholas assured us that all our cooking utensils will be different than the meat ones. This way, you can enjoy the cool weather, the dogs will be more keen to run around and play fetch with you, you can enjoy the sunset with the dogs, feed dinner to the dogs and end the day with a barbeque. 2 or 3 hour session with the dogs isn't enough! On Saturday, we had booked the last session - 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. If you are a dog-lover and are travelling ton Minehead from far, I would highly recommend booking a 4 our 6 hour session.
So we did a 3 hour session on a Saturday and another 3 hour session on a Sunday. Nicolas divided the 6 hour session into 2 days. Before we started the journey, he rang us and gave us restaurant recommendations for the weekend. Nicolas owns 26 golden retrievers and from the very beginning he was kind and friendly. If you are a massive dog-lover, then this experience is a must on your bucket list! My husband booked a 6 hour experience for my birthday and I cannot say how amazing it was.
